Keep on the Sunny Side is an American folk song that I describe as being "relentlessly optimistic." The composer, Ada Blenkhorn, tells us that there is a silver lining, no matter how dark our storm cloud. With the weather warming up (it’s mid-May as I post this), I notice the sun is shining more brightly, flowers are in full bloom, and the birds are singing all around my neighborhood, making everything feel brighter and more hopeful. Do you think Ms. Blenkhorn wrote these lyrics during springtime? And do you share her perspective?
